our school | school fee structure

what are your children's school fees used for?

Fees cover the day to day running of the school. Most of our expenses (75%) are for salaries and wages. All fees must be paid in advance. Parents may agree to pay annually or monthly.

ANNUAL SCHOOL FEES: 2026

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents for their commitment to paying fees despite the difficult circumstances that prevailed again this year.

A big thank you and congratulations must go to the Settlers’ Park team, all of whom continue to work tirelessly to make Settlers’ Park Pre-Primary School a wonderful, safe place for our children to be educated.

the governing body has approved the following fee structure for 2026.

The annual school fees for 2026 will be R36,225. Payments of R3,622.50 per month are payable over a 10-month period, with the first payment due by 3 February 2026 and the final payment due by 3 November 2026. The school fees include Marsh Scholar Personal Accident insurance which is compulsory for all children attending the school.

Development Levy

The management team at Settlers’ Park continually seeks to improve and upgrade the school facilities through targeted fundraising, as well as utilising the available resources as efficiently as possible. To this end, a Development Levy of R98.00 per child per month, payable over 10 months, will be charged. This amount is over and above the school fees and the levy will be used in conjunction with fundraising activities to continue to upgrade the school facilities and resources. Fundraising is a time consuming and labour-intensive process, which at times draws the focus of teachers and support staff away from their core roles. This levy therefore seeks to spread the load over the year for parents and staff alike.

Early Settlement Discount (School Fees only)

Parents who provide proof of payment of the annual school fees IN FULL before the 3rd February 2026 will be entitled to a discount of 4% (R1,449.00) on the annual fee. A sibling discount of 2% on school fees is also available to parents with more than one child attending the school simultaneously.

Section 18a donations

With regards to Section 18a donations, I want to make use of this opportunity to remind parents that Settlers’ Park is an Approved Public Benefit Organization (PBO). Therefore, any bona fide donation made to the school entitles the taxpayer to a tax deduction from his/her taxable income, provided the donation is actually paid or transferred during the year of assessment. This does not apply to amounts paid for school fees or school entrance fees and has to be a bona fide donation. Should you have any queries or concerns relating to the above fees, please feel free to contact Isa or Amanda and we will be more than happy to address your concerns. We look forward to an exciting 2026.

occasional casual use or late fetching charges

Such amounts will be charged to monthly fee account in arrears:

[UP TO 13:15: R21 / BETWEEN 13:15 AND 14:45: R42 / BETWEEN 14:45 AND 17:00: R84]

If your child is fetched late from Aftercare, you will be charged R55 per 5 minutes after 17:00.

Notice Period

The notice period for children leaving the school is two full months’ (60 days) notice in writing, in lieu of which two twelfths of the annual fees will be payable, in addition to fees due at the date of withdrawal.

name tags

A set of name tags will be ordered for each pupil. Each set comprises the following: 42 Waterproof Stationery labels, 52 Iron-on labels, 1 Bag-tag, 8 Plain shoe labels, and 44 Mini labels. A special rate of R75.00 has been negotiated for these packs. This will be charged to your child’s fee account.

N.B. If a child joins Settlers' at a later stage in the year, the pro-rata fees will be calculated.

Please note that one instalment is not equivalent to one month of school attendance. This is due to the way the fee payment plan is structured over 10 instalments (not 12). For example, if a child joins the school in Term 3, parents would be liable for half the year’s fees or for five instalments. In this case, the first payment for the second half of the year is due by 3 July and the last by 3 November etc.

Yours sincerely
